J. P. Fraley

Of all the past fiddlers, the one who never fails to impress with his smooth style and unique, delightful repertoire is Kentuckian J. P. Fraley (1923 - 2011).  When he was small his father, Richard, brought him to Ashland on business, but left him on the street where blind fiddler extraordinaire Ed Haley would be busking.  The Fraley's hosted the American Folk Song Festival for decades.  Enjoy these clawhammer banjo arrangements of some of his tunes.  Tabs are posted on this site.
