Composing music is a skill and can be cultivated. I thank Kentucky banjo picker Jim Reed and multi-instrumentalist Paul Roberts of BanjoCrazy.com for encouraging my creativity. Most of all I thank my husband, Kit, for encouraging me to have so much fun with my music. Tunes seem to create themselves just by fiddling around on the banjo. And every title has a story....
Tabs for my pieces are on this site.
This wooden fascimile of my birthday card to my husband, Kit, was made by champion woodworker and luthier Uhl Red Sagraves of Rough and Ready, California. All I had to do to receive this momentous keepsake was to show him the card I'd made and say "I bet you couldn't make this into a wood carving!" Red's a special fellow in our lives -- one of the founders of the Rough and Ready Fruit Jar Pickers.
