The Hamblem Collection was transcribed by grandson A. Porter Hamblen from two Virginia fiddlers: Grandfather David Russell (1809-1893) and his son Williamson (1846-1920). We're grateful to the late fiddler Christian Wig, whose website allows us to see the complete notated collection and whose fiddling still helps us learn these good tunes.
